The Sacraments of Christian Initiation

Christian Initiation incorporates us into Christ and forms us into God’s people. There are four Sacraments to be celebrated before completion of Christian Initiation.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process which prepares, educates and then initiates adults into becoming Catholic.

Baptisms

Baptism is the way that we formally and faithfully welcome a person into oneness with Jesus Christ and therefore, with His family, His Body, the Church here on earth today.

Confirmation

Preparation Sessions, Mass and Rehearsal will be held in the Parish at St Oliver Plunkett Church. The Sacrament of Confirmation will be offered to children in Year 3 (and above) in 2024.

Penance and First Holy Communion

The Sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion. The next program will be offered to children in Grade 4 (and above) in 2024.

Weddings

Catholics believe that God wants to be present with us as we live out our vocation in life, whether that be as a single person, a priest, member of a religious order, or as a married person.

Funerals

At the death of a Christian whose life of faith was begun in the waters of Baptism and strengthened at the eucharistic table, the Church intercedes on behalf of the deceased.
